You would have to be deaf to understand, term “nevermind”

When i am having an conversation with a person who is hearing, if i needed them to repeat something, they would say “nevermind”, or “i’ll tell u later”. Transcript: Hello all… its almost christmas time… excited? will santa come to ur house? also i wanted to show u my Iowa school for the deaf shirt. bobcat is the mascot for ISD. today topic is term “nevermind”. that the word we who are deaf, don’t like to hear from the hearing people. when we are talking to someone who is hearing and don’t know anything about deaf. when we ask someone to simply repeat or use paper and pen to tell us what they say. They sudden say “oh nevermind or not important. it makes us feel not important or they just don’t care. most hearing people don’t realize how using term “nevermind” makes us feel degraded, belittled. Those hearing people should get in our “shoes” and be told nevermind all the time, and see how it feels.
