Your most embarrassing moments in school?

Posted by chillygurlz on October 3, 2008

Beautiful day… sunny outside… today i want to talk about embarrassing moments that happen in school…

Sometimes when you go to school, you realized you forgot your lunch box, then your mom come into class later and give you ur lunch box.

when your passing notes in class and your teacher caught you.

when u finish your class, u go to ur lockers and grab wrong book for your next class without noticing it and go to next class.

When i was a little kid, I accidentally spilled milk on me in school cafe during breakfast one time.

i had to go in restroom and eat poop on a dare by kids.

I went in the wrong restroom.

being yelled at by staff in front of students.

falling asleep in class.

answering to the teacher when it not your turn.

when i am picked last in class during PE class.

Thanks for watching my vlog and feel free to leave comments!!!

Did you go to Deaf school or Mainstream school or both?

Posted by chillygurlz on August 28, 2008

Hello all…  I wonder, when you were growing up, did u go to mainstream public school or deaf school or both?  please leave a comment…  I grew up in mainstream public school, i went to Prescott Elementary school with other deaf kids and had very good program for the deaf, from preschool up to 6th grade then went to public middle school for my 7th grade.  I finally went to Nebraska school for the deaf in 8th grade and 9th grade.  I went to Iowa school for the deaf in 9th to 11th grade.  I repeated 9th grade.  then for my senior year i moved to Oregon, went to Grants Pass High school and graduated, yes there was deaf programs with interpreter at the school.  I enjoyed going to deaf schools the most cuz i was able to interact with deaf students and be part of deaf culture.

My point of view on DBC…

Posted by chillygurlz on August 8, 2008

(comes out of shell)  That exactly how i feel when i joined deafread and Deaf Video TV…   I started vlogging, watching your vlogs,  most of u all inspired me to open up more so i not “stuck in a shell”.   Thank u all soo much, I love ya all!!!     alright now, i want to express to u my point of view about DBC (DEAF BILINGUAL COALITION)…     about deaf babies right to ASL,  u know the webpage about DBC,  the videos don’t captions or subtitles,   well i would think they should add captions, so that way hearing parent who just had a deaf baby can come across this message…  http://www.seekgeo.com/?p=1141                like Seek Geo said on his vlog, captions on vlog like DBC will help send out messages to everyone…   but yes i support DBC, for deaf babies right to ASL…  i think the hearing parents with deaf babies should choose that path to allow the deaf babies learn to sign…  ok about ASL for me,   u know when i was a baby,  when i was age one, my mom found out i was deaf,   she has never met a deaf person or anything so she was like, “what am i gonna do”…  so she checked around, as always, she did make right decisions for me,  she had me learn to sign at age 1,  i went to early start preschool with other deaf kids at age 2…   My mom always made sure i have a part of deaf culture and be exposed to deaf community…   she always had me go visit and hang out with this one deaf family who “adopted me” so i would have deaf role model peers…  my mom did a wonderful job doing that for me, i am thankful for that from her…  my whole family is hearing.   part of my family don’t accept me as deaf, other part of family accepts me as deaf.  only my mom and both of my grandma knew sign, but today both my grandma forgotten how to sign.  my mom is still doing alright with signing but not fluent.   u know i been watching different vlogs,  stories about deaf ppl who been abused in oral school in past,  I felt sorry for the deaf kids in past who were abused in oral school.  I learned from that,  it made me realize, we deaf kids today,  are lucky  cuz now in most schools, we have a choice of either, speaking only, speak and sign or just sign only, and can take speech class if want, although schools will always encourage speech class for all kids anyway.   so i enjoy watching stories about history related to deaf issues…  those stories really made an impact on me.   alright thanks for watching my vlog and I love u all vloggers…  i enjoy all ur vlogs…   I have learned alot from all of u and my signing skills have improved alot too…  thanks…
